About Clase Azul
Clase Azul is produced at the Productos Finos de Agave at Nom 1416, situated in the Jesus Maria region of Arandas in Los Altos Highlands region of Mexico. Clase Azul is a premium 100% authentic from the tequila crafted in a small town named Santa Maria Canchesdá. Over one hundred Mexican artisans go to work meticulously handcrafting each bottle.
Clase Azul tequilas are made from 100% from organic Tequilana Weber Blue Agaves. Chosen from approximately 200 breeds of agave, this particular species is the only one that produces tequila. Once the agave is harvested, Clase Azul cooks them in old-fashioned brick ovens, a process which takes 72 hours.
The cooked piñas are then crushed, after which a special brand of yeast is added. This liquid is allowed to ferment before the resultant spirit is meticulously twice-distilled with careful attention ensuring the highest quality spirit. This ultra-premium line of tequilas comes from the region of Jalisco, which imparts a unique flavor profile to the tequila. This bright reposado is silky smooth with a rich body and woody, fruity aromas and nuanced flavors of cooked agave, wood, vanilla, and caramel.
Clase Azul loosely translates as “blue class,” and if you’ve ever sipped their fine tequilas, you’ll know that this is an apt moniker. The company is based in picturesque Santa Maria Canchesda and uses only the finest organically-grown blue agave. After harvesting, the agave is cooked in old-school brick ovens for three entire days before it’s double-distilled to perfection.
One of the best things about Clase Azul is that your experience never ends. Once you’ve finished every last delightful drop, the bottle itself can (and should) be kept forever. Each gorgeous bottle is made by hand and absolutely unique. Clase Azul employs about 100 artists whose sole job is to create these amazing bottles. Smoky and complex mezcal, crystal-clear plata and celebration-worthy.Clase Azul can all grace you with the tequila adventure of a lifetime.

When I first learned of this spirit I could not find a retailer that could get a bottle. I asked my local shop to put it out there and waited 5 years before connections finally got to my purchase. I then waited another two years worrying over the cost and whether I would like it. I’ve tasted dozens of highend/top shelf tequilas since my first introduction nearly 40 years ago and this is hands down the most complex and delightful ever. The tastes and scents that my friends and I experienced had us floored. Yes it is expensive but any Tequila lover should at least once in their life experience it.

When you experiment with expensive tequila, it leaves a gut wrenching feeling when it’s sub par. Too many out there in fancy bottles that lack identity when it comes to taste. Any experienced agave lover knows everyone’s palate is different. I happen to prefer añejo tequilas. However, Clase Azul Reposado will compare with any añejo and is worth every penny!!!

The whole process was seamless. No issues with ordering or delivery. Would definitely use Molloys again. And, the tequila was incredible. I’m not a tequila drinker per say but this is in another league. Amazing. It wont be the last one I will be ordering! :

The taste is delicious. However I remember it being smoother. It now reminds me a lot of Casamigos Repo.
Tequila was packaged wonderfully and arrived a bit earlier than expected. Nice surprise. Based on taste, I now (personally) find this tequila to be overpriced but I’m glad I purchased a bottle of my own. I’ve only ever had it in restaurants.
I would definitely purchase other products from this company again.

Ok my husband purchased this beautiful vase look Tequila for me for our 23rd Anniversary as I LOVE TEQUILA! Well he opened for me and we both took a shot and it is smooth and delicious! He’s not a drinker but he’s had 6 shots in 2 days so he really loves the gift he bought me lol. Please buy Clase Azul Tequila Reposado you will not regret it! It’s a huge vase with lots of Tequila in it and you can reuse it. We’re heading to Cancun in 2 weeks and I’ll be looking for this and others! Enjoy yours when you buy it!

This is a wonderful refined sipping Tequila. Let it sit and open up in the glass for a bit and you will be rewarded with a wonderful aroma of vanilla and caramel layered over the Agave. This Tequila definitely leans towards the sweet. This taste can be off putting to more seasoned palates who are looking for the more traditional tequila profile. There is some debate as to whether Clase Azul modifies this tequila to boost the sweetness. For myself and many others the point is moot as I thoroughly enjoy the sweet vanilla notes mingling with the agave and other flavors from the wood aging. I enjoy this as a sipping tequila taking small sips and letting the smooth vanilla and caramel notes wash over my palate. The sweetness can make this popular with the ladies who are put off my the more aggressive taste of wood aged spirits. Also people who complain they do not like the taste of Tequila may be pleasantly surprised by the smoothness of this product coupled with the sweet finish. The bottle likely drives the price a bit at well, but is a nice presentation that can make a lovely vase after the Tequila is finished. This is my go to sipper for tequila.
